Helena Connolly is a from Lisnaskea Co Fermanagh.
She studied a degree in Music (Bmus) at Queens University Belfast and moved to Edinburgh in 2001 to study a PGCE. She worked as a secondary school music teacher for 5 years and in 2004, she studied a Masters degree in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care and was employed as a school chaplain in St David’s High School, Dalkeith. In 2006 Helena moved to Co Kerry and worked as a pastoral worker in the Diocese of Kerry and music director in St Mary’s Cathedral Killarney.
Music has always been a huge part of her life. During Helena’s 10 years in Kerry she worked as a professional singer and musician, recording 2 studio albums (‘Helena Connolly – The Reason Why’and ‘Onora – Future in the Past’) and doing countless tours, Irish music and dance shows and corporate concerts. She is also a songwriter and plays guitar, piano, and flute.
Helena moved back to Fermanagh in 2015 and began working as Youth Director for Clogher Diocese leading their youth ministry organisation Clogher don Óige. It was at this time she discovered her new found love for photography.
In 2017 Helena began working as a lay Missioner with the Redemptorists Ireland, travelling around Ireland delivering Parish Missions as a part of a team of lay people and priests. She also works as a professional wedding photographer
