The principal festival of Bocairent in honour of the town’s patron saint, Saint Blai, are the fiestas of Mores and Christians, celebrated the first weekend in February each year. A deep rooted tradition full of colour and popular culture make these the towns most attractive celebrations. So many Spanish villages, towns and cities has its own Moors and Christians festivities during the year celebrating the victory of Christians over Moors in 13th century. However, the one in Bocairent is one of the best, due to its long tradition and close association with Saint Blai.
